about

IN A WORLD
WE CALL OUR OWN

This song was inspired by my work at SOS Children's Village. I realized there that home does not have to be a place. Home can be a relationship between people. Whether that relationship is between siblings, parent & child, husband & wife, or boyfriend & girlfriend, as long as they are together they are home.
When you listen to this song you may think of the foster children. But, you also may relate it to your own life. No matter where life takes you, no matter where you end up, as long as you are with the ones you love, you are home. The house doesn't matter, the past doesn't matter, when you are together you create this world, this home, that you can have all your own...

lyrics

In a world, all our own, let's just sit here and wait for the dawn to break
No house, but a home, sit here with me forget all of yesterday
Look at the sunshine rising on high
Kiss the moonlight of the past goodbye

And don't look back
Yes, your heart will stay intact
When I look at our journey now no one can hurt me
Look at me, when you're with me you're home
In this world that we call our own

Forget the past when sun was gone...
Now we're dawning on a whole new way
A way of life, but there's still love
No next court dates child
They cannot take you away
Look at your father's eyes
Cause they're still here
In your bright mind, crystal clear

And don't look back
Yes, your heart will stay intact
When I look at our journey now no one can hurt me
Look at me, when you're with me you're home
In this world that we call our own

Hold on
Feel the rain on your face
Hold on
There's no halfway place
Hold on
When you're with me your home

In this world that we call our own....
